Reviews

“Elisa Balbo, who, last year in Bad Wildbad, charmed the audience with her Anna Erisso in Maometto II, leaves nothing to be desired as Anaï, with her brilliant soprano and stupendous dramatic eruptions in the high notes.”

Online Musik Magazin

“Elisa Balbo sings Anaï’s tragic love turmoil with her clear soprano, confident high notes, and complete ease, and contributes to the evening with her great scene in act four and in the touching duet with Amenophis , both sang with moving accents.”

PZ-News

Operaclick

“Among the numerous Egyptians and Israeli characters, the two lovers, Anai-Amenophis, are the most interesting and moving elemetnts by far…in particular, this couple’s games, unbelievably sang by Randall Bills and Elisa Balbo, show how the artificial ability of the Rossini voice can be convincingly put at the service of the expression of extreme ‘serious’ emotions, and not only of comic ones.”

Faustkultur

“As Anais, the daughter of Moses, Elisa Balbo transforms the sharp traits of her soprano into vocal fireworks.”

Badische Zeitung

“Elisa Balbo, who is also fighting between political opposition and the irresistible power of love, wins soon the audience’s heart with her elegant soprano, moving pianos and rich legato.”

“…treats her aria like a true rondo, and sings all the agility and vocalization with brio, to the audience delight, that lets her know .”

Forumopera

“Elisa Balbo in the role of Anaï alternated superbly-sang lyrical parts and sharper tones in the more dramatic parts.”
